Core Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Representation

  • Represent the Congressman and the office at community meetings, civic events, and public forums, as directed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, advocacy organizations, nonprofits, and constituents.
  • Serve as a point of contact between the office and federal, state, and local partners.
  • Support the office’s Official Volunteer Program by helping recruit, retain, and manage volunteer engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned

Constituent Advocacy & Issue Monitoring

  • Track local issues, trends, and developments and provide timely updates to the Congressman and senior staff.
  • Identify and elevate constituent concerns that may require legislative attention or additional support.
  • Manage the office's New and Aspiring Americans Advisory Council and lead outreach and engagement with Spanish-speaking communities and community organizations across the district.
  • Help amplify and resolve community issues by working with other teams across the office.

Event Planning & Strategic Coordination

  • Plan, organize, and execute district events, including roundtables, town halls, and community forums.
  • Help facilitate scheduling and constituent requests to ensure the office remains responsive and helpful.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure constituent concerns inform the Congressman's advocacy and constituents are kept informed of the Congressman's advocacy.

Media & Communications Support

  • Support the Communications and Creative Teams by keeping the office informed of relevant news and political developments.
  • Capture photos and videos at events and suggest social media content.
  • Flag relevant coverage, trends, and community sentiment for internal awareness.
  • Ensure consistent, professional representation of the office in all external interactions.

District Travel & Availability

  • Travel regularly throughout the East Valley to maintain visibility and engagement.
  • Work evenings and weekends as needed to support community events and the Congressman's advocacy.

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

  • Fluency in Spanish (written and verbal).
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Strong written, verbal, and public speaking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to work independently as a self-starter while contributing to a collaborative team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to constituent service, politics, and current events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Event planning or production
  • Political campaign or issue advocacy experience.
  • Familiarity with Arizona’s Fourth Congressional District and/or the East Valley.
  • Congressional, political, nonprofit, or customer service experience.
  • Some post-secondary education or training (not required).

Working Conditions

  • Based in the Mesa office with frequent travel throughout the East Valley.
  • Requires occasional work outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Occasional national travel to professional development conferences or the Washington, D.C., office may be required.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation

  • Annual salary of $55,000 - 65,000 paid monthly (commensurate with experience)
  • Quarterly bonuses up to $5,000 based on performance evaluations
