Job Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of materials and finished goods in a manufacturing environment. This role supports production by ensuring raw materials, pipe, fittings, and related products are handled safely, documented correctly, and shipped on time in accordance with US Pipe safety, quality, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping

Prepare finished pipe and related products for shipment according to customer and carrier requirements

Verify quantities, dimensions, weights, and documentation prior to shipment

Load trucks using forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment

Complete bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping documentation accurately

Coordinate with production, sales, and logistics to meet shipping schedules
Receiving
-
Receive raw materials, supplies, and components used in manufacturing

Inspect incoming materials for damage, accuracy, and compliance with specifications

Document receipts in inventory or ERP systems

Stage materials appropriately for production or storage
Inventory & Yard Management

Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts

Organize yard and warehouse areas to ensure safe and efficient material flow

Identify and report inventory discrepancies or damaged materials
Safety & Quality

Follow all US Pipe safety policies, PPE requirements, and operating procedures
-
Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment (certification required or obtained on the job)
-
Support quality standards by preventing damage to pipe and materials during handling

Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement efforts
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred

Experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations in a manufacturing environment preferred

Ability to operate forklifts and cranes (or willingness to be trained)

Basic computer skills for inventory and shipping documentation

Ability to read work orders, shipping documents, and safety instructions
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, push, or pull materials up to required limits with or without assistance

Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors and indoors in a manufacturing environment

Exposure to heat, noise, dust, and heavy equipment
