About the Role:
U.S. Pipe is seeking a Maintenance Training Coordinator to join our team. The Maintenance Training Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive training programs across the manufacturing facility. This position ensures that all employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their roles safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and operational standards. Serving as a key resource for both safety and operational training, the Training Coordinator also partners with leadership to develop and support internal development tools and initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about continuous improvement and workforce development.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, and update employee training records via online tracking systems for all levels of the facility.
- Facilitate and document On-the-Job Training (OJT) for new and existing maintenance personnel.
- Ensures maintenance personnel have the tools necessary to be successful. Ie. Prints course work, prepares binders, etc.
- Tracks training KPIs like on-time course completion, passing rates, enrollment rates using training dashboard.
- Ensure maintenance personnel consistently meet weekly training time requirements
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates training and programs for maintenance personnel.
- Deliver and manage ongoing training initiatives to support knowledge of plant processes and procedures.
- Audit Training Guides and ensure training materials are accurate and current.
- Evaluate all hourly employees on LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and equipment operation compliance.
- Audit Job Task Analyses (JTAs) for accuracy, clarity, and effectiveness.
- Act as a resource for managers regarding job bid awards and internal movements.
- Provide refresher training for employees returning from leave to ensure safe reintegration.
- Track and support all internal employee movements across maintenance departments.
- Oversee new hire training and tracking, ensuring successful onboarding.
- Assess and improve cross-training programs to build workforce flexibility and skill redundancy.
- Coordinate and deliver training for cranes, forklifts, and specific mobile equipment certifications.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement across the facility.
- This is a leadership growth position, with an expectation for development toward future roles in leadership.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or a Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Human Resources, Education, Training and Develop or other Business-related fields is a plus.
- 2 years of experience in HR, instruction, or training is highly valued.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, LOTO procedures, and industrial safety practices.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and training tracking systems.
- Comfortable facilitating group training sessions and one-on-one instruction.
- Certified or willing to become certified in FA/CPR/AED, forklift, and crane operation.
