Job Summary
US PAVE is a leading construction firm in South Florida seeking a highly experienced and safety-focused Concrete Foreman to lead and manage our concrete crews in the bustling construction environment of Broward County. The Foreman will be responsible for overseeing all on-site concrete operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Crew Leadership & Supervision: Direct and supervise a crew of concrete laborers and finishers (typically 2-6 people), assigning daily tasks, and providing on-the-job training and mentorship.
- Safety Enforcement: Implement and strictly enforce all company and OSHA safety protocols and regulations. Conduct daily toolbox talks and site inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
- Quality Control: Oversee all stages of concrete work, including excavation, formwork (setting forms for slabs, curbs, sidewalks, and foundations), rebar installation, pouring, leveling, finishing, and curing. Ensure work adheres to blueprints, project specifications, and local Broward County standards.
- Project Management Support: Coordinate with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and other trades to maintain project schedules and workflow efficiency.
- Material and Equipment Management: Accurately calculate and order necessary materials (concrete, rebar, forms) and schedule deliveries. Inspect and maintain all tools and equipment to ensure they are safe and operational.
- Technical Interpretation: Read and accurately interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and survey stakes to establish correct grades, elevations, and placements.
- Documentation & Reporting: Complete daily reports, time sheets, and production logs. Communicate site issues, progress updates, and material needs to the Superintendent promptly.
- Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve issues related to materials, personnel, or project details as they arise in the field.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in concrete construction, with at least 2-3 years in a Foreman or Supervisory role leading a crew.
- Technical Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of concrete construction methods, materials, tools, equipment, and finishing techniques (e.g., flatwork, vertical forms, curb and gutter).
- Blueprint Proficiency: Proven ability to read, interpret, and work accurately from construction blueprints and specifications.
- Safety Certifications: Current OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification is highly preferred; must possess a strong understanding of safety regulations.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions typical of South Florida (heat, humidity, rain), stand for long periods, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Transportation: Must have a valid Florida Driver's License and reliable transportation to job sites across Broward County.
- Skills: Excellent leadership, communication (English and/or Spanish proficiency is a plus in South Florida), organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Rate: Competitive hourly wage or salary based on experience $70,520/year ($34/hour) to $84,800/year ($41/hour).
Performance Bonus: Opportunity for performance-based bonuses tied to project completion metrics, safety records, quality assurance, and crew efficiency.
