What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Associate position at U.S. Paint Corporation?
SUPERVISORY DUTIES: None
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and perform timely corrective actions
Conduct inspections and ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently
Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using KPA or logs
Work closely with production, safety, and quality teams to support operations
Comply with all safety regulations and company policies
Respond to maintenance calls during shifts and support emergency repairs as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required, technical certification or trade school preferred
- 2 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance (preferably in chemical, coatings, or paint industries)
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems, motors, pumps, valves, compressors, and piping
- Basic understanding of PLCs and electrical troubleshooting is a plus
- Proficient with use and care of hand tools, power tools, and basic welding techniques used in facility maintenance
- Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to obtain a forklift certification
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with initiative and flexibility to adapt to a fact paced manufacturing environment
- Willingness to work in a plant environment and adhere to PPE and safety guidelines
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers is crucial.
- Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential.
- Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
- Must be able to position self to maintain and operate equipment.
- Heavy lifting is expected; exertion of up to 80 lbs. of force required.
- Good manual dexterity for the use of equipment.
- Ability to regularly squat and return to standing without assistance.
- Ability to regularly ascend and descend stairs.
