Duties

  • You will maintain liaison with senior intelligence professionals at other agencies to provide/obtain information on routine/non-routine problems/matters affecting operations.
  • You will perform analysis and production tasks relative to Acoustic Intelligence (ACINT).
  • You will apply expert analytical skills and practices to plan and manage intelligence analysis and assessments regarding the mission area.
  • You will handle highly complex, sensitive or ambiguous challenges facing the organization.
  • You will interact with, influence and persuade high ranking officials within and outside the organization, agency and other external organiztions.
  • You will supervise the analysis, evaluation, and reporting of other intelligence data from multiple sources to assess their significance affecting operations, performance/productivity of the department.
  • You will plan and assign work, set and adjust priorities and schedules for completion, and evaluate employee performance.
  • You will oversee department staffing, employee placement, and professional development initiatives.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
  • This position may be subject to polygraph examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level of GS/GG-13. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as:

  • Supervisory experience with a demonstrated ability to direct, coordinate, and oversee a large workforce through division managers and subordinate program managers.
  • Expert knowledge and ability to combine programmatic knowledge with demonstrated planning and management skills to shape, optimize, and justify strategies and high-level plans for the full range of assigned program functions, including program-level instructions, policies, and procedures for operational direction to the department.
  • Extensive experience in Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS) support to Theater Undersea Warfare Operations (TUSWC) and Acoustic Intelligence (ACINT) Production.
  • Experience and knowledge defining acoustic program objectives, priorities, and strategies, including policy/process framework, to assure program effectiveness.
  • Strong oral and written communication with demonstrated ability to apply time and resource management skills to meet simultaneous requirements.
