This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Help
- You will maintain all listed qualifications and certifications through periodic performance and written or operational examinations.
- You will inspect items including surface ship and submarine structural and mechanical systems, machinery, piping, pressure vessels, and nuclear cognizant components.
- You will provide inspection guidance, direction, or other informal training to apprentices, helper trainees, or other employees.
- You will communicate Non-Destructive Testing inspection results to the requesting activity as well as to Quality Assurance and Engineering/Technical personnel.
- You will perform Non-Destructive Testing inspections on a wide variety of structures and components involved with the shipbuilding, repair, and overhaul of Naval vessels.
- You will maintain supplemental qualifications necessary to perform required Non-Destructive Testing inspections, including but not limited to confined space, respirator, and fall protection.
- You will effectively communicate both orally and in writing with all levels of personnel.

- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 50 pounds in weight.
- You will be required to work onboard ships.
