Position Overview
The Implant Coordinator serves as the central point of communication and organization for all dental implant–related treatment within the practice. This role blends patient education, clinical coordination, and administrative management to ensure a seamless experience from initial consultation through final restoration. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, confident in patient communication, and comfortable navigating both clinical and financial aspects of implant dentistry.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Coordination
- Guide patients through the full implant process, from consultation to completion.
- Provide clear explanations of treatment plans, timelines, and surgical procedures.
- Review medical histories and ensure all necessary records, imaging, and clearances are obtained.
- Serve as the patient’s primary point of contact for questions, scheduling, and follow‑up care.
Treatment Planning & Clinical Support
- Work closely with the surgeon to prepare and present implant treatment plans.
- Coordinate diagnostic imaging (CBCT scans, panoramic radiographs) and ensure accuracy of records.
- Communicate with restorative dentists to align on implant position, prosthetic needs, and case goals.
- Track case progress and maintain detailed documentation in the practice management system.
Financial Coordination
- Present treatment fees, payment options, and financial policies with clarity and professionalism.
- Prepare and submit insurance pre‑authorizations when applicable.
- Provide accurate cost estimates and assist patients with financing arrangements.
- Follow up on outstanding treatment plans and maintain case acceptance metrics.
Referral & Provider Communication
- Maintain strong relationships with referring dentists and their teams.
- Ensure restorative partners receive timely updates, imaging, and surgical notes.
- Coordinate multi‑provider cases and manage communication between all parties.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain implant inventory and coordinate with vendors for ordering and tracking components.
- Monitor case timelines to ensure efficient scheduling and workflow.
- Assist with marketing efforts related to implant services, including patient education materials and referral outreach.
- Support front office and clinical teams as needed to maintain smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
- Experience in oral surgery, periodontics, or implant dentistry required.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, implant procedures, and treatment sequencing.
