**Nuclear Operations Overview:**
Nuclear technicians, power plant operators, and subsystems specialists are responsible for keeping vital Naval submarines and aircraft carriers running. They perform complex technical functions that support sub and carrier capabilities.
**Responsibilities:**There are three types of Nuclear Operations jobs: Machinist's Mate Nuclear (MMN), Electrician's Mate Nuclear (EMN), and Electronics Technician Nuclear (ETN). Each role has unique responsibilities based on training, interests, and designation.
**Work Environment & Training:**As an Enlisted Sailor in nuclear operations, you'll work at sea or ashore in intense environments aboard nuclear-powered submarines or aircraft carriers. You'll receive initial 7–9 week Recruit Training followed by 'A' School training based on your rating specialty:
