Fire Controlman

The Navy's Advanced Electronics/Computer Field provides industry-leading training in electronics, computer systems, radar, communications, and weapons fire control technology.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintain and repair radar, communication,and navigation equipment
• Operate,maintain,and repair fire control radars(mainframe computers,large display systems,LANS weapon control consoles,and automatic gun systems)
• Troubleshoot electro-mechanical components within weapons systems

Work Environment includes serving worldwide on deployed ships at shore-based technical facilities.The role requires hands-on work with accuracy problem-solving strong teamwork.Training involves 11-weeks of apprentice technical training followed by specialized C-schools with college credits through American Council on Education or Department of Labor apprenticeships via USMAP.
