Summary

This position is located at the Golf and Outdoor Recreation Division, which is part of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department aboard Naval Support Activity Mid-South, Millington, TN. Incumbents are under direct supervision of the Golf Course Director. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of duties in support of the Glen Eagle Gold Course.

Duties

Help

  • Performs assigned duties and provides necessary services to authorized patrons, including general information and support of the Glean Eagle Golf Course.
  • Provides information and concerning facilities and operation. Ensures adherence to regulations, and safety and security procedures.
  • May assist in maintaining routine reports and/or perform clerical, custodial, and/or general maintenance duties as needed. May operate a cash register, Point of Sale 9POS) system, processes product or service transactions including equipment loan, rentals, resale, and program registration, receive payments and make change.
  • Provides customer service by greeting patrons in person and by answering call, messages, and varied customer request or referrals to appropriate staff members.
  • Adheres to NAVMED-P-5010 sanitation requirements. Provide support for Community Recreation event set up and breakdown.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • Must be able to work varied schedules and work weekends.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Written Inquires (NACI), upon hiring and renew every 5 years and/or a Child Care National Agency Check with Inquires when there is regular contact with children under the age of 18.
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain the following certification within 90 days of hire: Emergency First Responder or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation; Food Handlers; C.A.R.E (Controlling Alcohol Risks Effectively).

Specialized experience directly related to the duties described above. Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Knowledge of the MWR department in order to answer customer questions and/or refer customers to the appropriate activity.
  • Skilled in keyboarding to include operation of point of sale systems as well as desktop computers.
  • Ability to perform basic computer operations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend in order to adhere to published rules, regulations, standard operating procedures, checklists, and other guides.
  • Ability to perform basic custodial tasks (e.g., sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping, dusting, etc.).
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Ability to identify customer needs, deliver expected service and/or resolve routine customer issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

  • Military Spouse Preference (MSP): Qualifying spouses eligible for MSP are spouses of an active duty military member of the U.S. Armed Forces, including members of the National Guard or Reserves on active duty. The marriage must have occurred before the military member received official permanent change of station (PCS) orders to the installation listed above. MSP is applicable only when applying for NAF positions at the NF-03 and below and equivalent craft and trade (CT) positions. To claim this preference, you MUST:
  • Submit sponsor's PCS orders to installation you are applying for; AND
  • If you are not indicated as a spouse on the PCS orders, you MUST submit proof of marriage prior to PCS.
  • Veteran's Preference/Gold Star Veteran's Preference: Qualifying military veterans, and spouses/parents of deceased veterans shall be given employment preference over non-preference applicants if they are equally qualified. Preference applicable for positions open to external candidates.
