Job Summary
Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trucks and commercial vehicles. This role ensures vehicles operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory standards. The mechanic works on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other critical systems to minimize downtime and maximize fleet performance. Work hours are M-F 3pm to 1130pm with some weekend work, light trailer repair, mounting and dismounting tires.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and preventive service on trucks (oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, etc.)
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Repair or replace malfunctioning components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure vehicles meet DOT and company standards
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation of repairs
- Test drive vehicles to ensure proper operation after repairs
- Respond to roadside breakdowns and emergency repairs (if required)
- Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and repair techniques
- Some weekend work, light trailer repair. Mounting and dismounting tires.
- High school diploma or GED (technical certification preferred)
- 2 years' experience
- Proven experience as a truck or diesel mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicle systems
- Ability to operate diagnostic software and tools
- Understanding of safety procedures and DOT regulations
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred in some roles)
