U.S. Micro-Solutions, Inc. is seeking an adaptable, detail-oriented Data Entry Specialist to manage critical data input and vital front-office support for our environmental microbiology laboratory. This multifaceted role serves as the central hub of our daily operations, combining high-volume, precision data entry with essential client relation duties.

In addition to ensuring the absolute accuracy of our laboratory database, you will act as a primary liaison for our clients—answering multi-line phones, greeting visitors, resolving complaints, and supporting general office administrative tasks. The ideal candidate thrives under time constraints, seamlessly shifts between data management and customer service, and maintains a strict commitment to data security and operational integrity.

Schedule: Monday through Friday (8 am - 4 pm) with rotating Saturdays (8 am - 12 pm)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare, compile, and sort documents for data entry
  • Check source documents for accuracy
  • Obtain further information for incomplete documents
  • Combine and rearrange data from source documents where required
  • Enter data from source documents into prescribed computer database, files, and forms
  • Verify data and correct data where necessary
  • Check completed work for accuracy
  • Scan documents into document management systems or databases
  • Store completed documents in designated locations
  • Maintain logbooks or records of activities and tasks
  • Respond to requests for information and access relevant files
  • Comply with data integrity and security policies
  • Maintain office equipment and stationery supplies
  • Perform general office duties, e.g. filing, faxes, and e-mails
  • Receive and resolve customer complaints
  • Answer questions from customers regarding services offered or direct them to the person who can assist them
  • Act as liaison between the customer and the laboratory
  • Answer the multi-line telephone to unlock door for entry and/or transfer to appropriate extensions or personnel
  • Work within time constraints and adapt to workload

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED)LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, and software manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate well with customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to think about something in a logical way in order to form a conclusion or judgment.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must possess proficient typing and data entry skills

Must be familiar with current software packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Must be familiar with the laboratory information system (LIMS) and be able to input and retrieve data.

Must be familiar with all company services and customer base.

Work is performed primarily in an office setting (ambient room temperature, lighting, and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment).

  • Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
