How You’ll Make An Impact

As a Salesforce Developer, you will advance the mission of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) by owning the end-to-end design, development, and integration of Salesforce solutions. You’ll build with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, and SOQL/SOSL, manage source control and CI/ [MH1] [MH2] CD in Azure DevOps, and implement and optimize integrations via REST/SOAP APIs and middleware (e.g., Alumio), following best practices for security, scalability, and resilience. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to align Salesforce with business processes, improve API usage, and contribute to USGBC’s data governance program by driving data quality, lineage, security, and compliance.

You’ll report to the V.P. Enterprise Architect and be part of a Technology team environment where your contributions will help shape impactful outcomes. You’ll work closely with teams like Membership, Operations, Marketing and Finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Apex, LWC, and Flow solutions for USGBC, ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable implementations aligned to business requirements.
  • Integrate Salesforce with external systems via REST/SOAP APIs and middleware (e.g.Alumino), ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with Product, QA, and Data teams to refine requirements, validate test cases, and deliver features that optimize end-to-end business processes.
  • Analyze and optimize SOQL/SOSL queries and Apex performance using Developer Console and monitoring tools, reducing query costs and improving response times.
  • Support and maintain environments (Dev, QAS, Prod), coordinating releases, sandbox refreshes, and hotfixes to minimize downtime and deployment risk.
  • Provide technical guidance on architecture, security (profiles, permission sets, sharing), and API usage limits to ensure compliance and reliability.
  • Contribute to data governance by enforcing data quality rules, documenting data lineage, and implementing validation, deduplication, and field-level security.
  • Document solution designs, deployment runbooks, and best practices to improve team onboarding and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay current with Salesforce releases and platform features, assessing impacts and recommending enhancements to maximize value.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 2-4 years of hands-on experience building on the Salesforce platform

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Technology/System(s)

  • Salesforce, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Account Engagement, Workbench

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Salesforce Developer, with a comprehensive understanding of Salesforce architecture and API.
  • Proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Visualforce.
  • Experience in Salesforce administration and custom development.
  • Strong skills in data modeling, security, and integration patterns.
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce best practices and development standards.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Certifications

  • Salesforce Certified Developer (e.g., Platform Developer I or II) is preferred.

Salary

Final compensation and benefits will be confirmed at the time of offer and may vary based on factors such as internal equity, relevant experience, qualifications, and employment status. Please note that salary negotiations will not extend beyond the top of the internal salary range.

  • Generous paid time off (12 paid holidays, 9 paid personal sick days and based on career level either 2 to 3 weeks PTO), including operations closed for a full week between Christmas and New Year’s
  • 6 weeks paid renewal leave after 7 years of continuous service

LOGISTICS

Location: This position is remote in the U.S.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday schedule 9 AM to 5:30 PM in applicant’s time zone

Travel %: 10%

Salary : $110,000 - $125,000
