- You will provide the Commanding Officer and other personnel with a need to know with information about new or revised Communications Security (COMSEC) policies and procedures and their impact on the command.
- You will acquire, monitor and maintain command COMSEC material allowance to include a semiannual review of all COMSEC material holdings to ensure that there is a continuing need for the quantity and types of all COMSEC materials held.
- You will ensure alternate manager(s) remain informed of the status of the account so that the alternate(s) are always fully capable of assuming the duties in the absence of the Key Management Infrastructure Operating Manager (KOAM).
- You will conduct training to ensure that all personnel, including remote Local Elements (Les), handling COMSEC material are familiar with and adhere to proper COMSEC procedures.
- You will ensure prompt and accurate preparation, signature, and submission of account correspondence, message, and accounting reports.
- You will verify the security clearance of all personnel prior to granting them access to/issuing them COMSEC material.
- You will execute TS/SCI indoctrinations/debriefs, document in the Defense Information System for Security (DISS), mail the original Nondisclosure Agreements to Special Security Officer (SSO) NAVY.
- You will coordinate with the SSO on the various daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, and ADHOC requirements.
- You will generale Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Instructions, and other regulatory guidance relating to COMSEC material and equipment in the SCIF.

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position; INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST proficiency level INTERMEDIATE the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- This is a Security Professional Educational Development (SPeD) position and requires DoD certification. Selectee must obtain and maintain certification within prescribed timeframes.
