Duties

Help

  • You will perform routine assignments and complete on-the-job and formal training related to supporting Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) programs.
  • You will participate in implementing instructions for administration of a discrimination complaint process for both individual and class complaints.
  • You will review regulations and provide basic responses to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) related questions and inquiries.
  • You will learn to select and research appropriate regulations and guidelines and advise higher graded specialists of findings.
  • You will compile and assemble Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) reports by obtaining appropriate demographics data.
  • You will maintain data in relevant databases for claimant programs.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
  • This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
  • This position may require a two-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) prior to appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as

  • Research federal anti-discrimination laws, regulations, and executive orders to complete assignments regarding routine and basic tasks of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) complaints process;
  • Gather, organize, and objectively analyze data, statements, and employment records to identify discrepancies or trends;
  • Demonstrate sensitivity and professionalism required to handle emotionally charged workplace complaints neutrally and confidentially;
  • Utilize strong organizational skills to track regulatory deadlines, maintain intake logs, and systematically manage physical and electronic case files.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion a four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.

Education Substitution

If you are using education to meet all or part of the qualification requirements, you must submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume. Foreign Education: Required for vacancies with Positive Education or Education Substitution

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the qualification requirements if the applicant can provide documentation indicating that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.

Recruitment incentives may be authorized to eligible new hires.

PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
