As a Supervisory Fish and Wildlife Biologist your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Conditions of employment

In the absence of agency action to affirmatively certify continued employment beyond the probationary or trial period, such appointments are terminated. Upon completion of your probationary period your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
This is a supervisory position that may require completion of a supervisory probationary period.

To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. Failure to adequately provide information needed to determine number of hours worked in each position may result in that time not being credited when evaluating qualifying experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.
In order to qualify for this position, you must possess both the Basic Requirement and Minimum Qualification.

As a Supervisory Fish and Wildlife Biologist your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage staff conducting ESA-related workload.
- Lead office operations through collaboration with supervisory peers.
- Assign work, provide guidance, resolve employee concerns, and handle disciplinary actions.
- Identify training needs, support employee development, and establish performance standards to improve work quality.
- Coordinate activities under ESA Sections 4, 6, 7, 9, and 10, overseeing staff that are serving as technical advisors on habitat needs and species conservation measures.
- Participate in complex, multi-disciplinary planning efforts with diverse public, private, and governmental partners.
- Provide expertise and coordination for conservation programs, including Partners for Fish and Wildlife and Environmental Quality initiatives, while reviewing regulations and advancing habitat restoration and preservation efforts statewide.
- Contribute to office-level strategic planning by setting priorities, developing long-range program objectives, overseeing hiring and staffing actions, and ensuring efficient use of resources while aligning conservation activities with organizational goals.

- Degree: in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. You must submit transcripts. OR
- Combination of education and experience includes coursework equivalent to a major (i.e. 24 semester/ 36 quarter hours) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
- One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: 1) coordinating a natural resources conservation program and leading others to achieve defined goals, including development of project timelines and implementation of projects according to schedules; 2) providing administrative, scientific, and technical leadership for a scientific program or project, including supervising or managing a staff of biological or natural resource professionals; 3) dealing with controversial natural resources management issues, negotiating with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders to resolve conflicts; 4) providing leadership, which includes planning, organizing, and directing the work of other individuals focused on the conservation of natural resources; 5) applying knowledge of appropriate Federal statutes and regulations to fish and wildlife conservation; and 6) contributing to overall office strategic planning by establishing priorities, developing long-range program objectives, overseeing hiring and staffing actions, ensuring efficient use of financial resources in support of office operations and aligning conservation activities with organizational goals.
