Emergency Response: Incumbent is required to respond to alarms on the evenings and weekends, as assigned. Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following:
- Assists with propagation of fish, plants, and/or other aquatic organisms at the Bears Bluff National Fish Hatchery.
- Performs daily husbandry duties: feeding, weighing, and measuring fish and aquatic organisms.
- Cleans, monitors, and performs light maintenance on enclosures and life support systems.
- Monitors hatchery water quality and/or other environmental parameters, and reports to supervisor when out of desired range.
- Assists biologists with controlled reproduction of fish and other aquatic organisms in a hatchery setting, collecting and hatching eggs, husbandry of offspring, and delivery at scheduled times.

- Education: Successful completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major field of study (or at least 24 semester hours of study) in biology, chemistry, statistics, entomology, animal husbandry, botany, physics, agriculture, or mathematics.
