Duties
- Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Makes decisions regarding the clinical operations of the program and day-to-day programmatic functioning of HPACT staff
- Provides direct supervision to an interdisciplinary team - as well as providing programmatic support in meeting the needs of homeless Veterans on HPACT
- Leads team meetings - program development - consulting with providers - data tracking/management - responding to consults - and providing consultation
- Ensures that team members provide medical and behavioral health specialty services that are Veteran centric - include evaluation to guide treatment planning - and aid in determining both appropriate treatment in specialty care based on the primary presenting symptoms diagnosis and treatment goals
- Facilitates and develops Memorandums of Understanding with community-based and private sector providers emphasizing collaboration in the care of homeless Veterans
- Monitors the safety of staff working with homeless Veterans and implement/update related policies and Standard Operating Procedures
- Establishes - implements - and maintains referral - screening - and admission procedures for program participants which meet national standards as well as the needs of local medical center services and programs
- Provides direct support to the HJCR Deputy Section Chief and assist with the day-to-day program operations and development
- Observes and collects outcome measures - including Veteran satisfaction - and meeting formal and descriptive performance measures
- Reviews consults and responding to consults submitted for HPACT services
- Consults broadly with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues
- Provides a full scope of psychodiagnostic services including assessment and using the most appropriate techniques in providing quality care
- Assesses and diagnoses mental disorders and conduct specialized psychological evaluations
- Treats mental disorders through a variety of modalities
- especially evidence-based psychotherapies (EBPs
- such as - Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy)
- Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions including individual and group psychotherapy - family therapy - consultation - and psychoeducation
- Provides mental health services via tele-health to remote locations - as necessary
- Coordinates care with the HPACT psychiatric prescriber and behavioral health RN to provide a full array of behavioral health services to Veterans served by HJCR
- Maintains academic/faculty appointments in affiliated training programs commensurate with his/her training - experience - and academic productivity
- Participates in Psychology Training Programs and Training Committees as appropriate
- Provides leadership guidance and consultation to staff of units to which the incumbent is assigned
- Serves as a consultant to other medical center staff and trainees and assist in their formulation of the psychological characteristics and appropriate treatment expectations regarding their patients
- Enters - reviews - and evaluates program data utilizing the Homeless Patient Aligned Care Team database to monitor/track every Veteran that has been referred to local HPACT
- Oversees the establishment of program monitors and outcome measurements within programs assigned
