Summary
The incumbent provides support to the audiology service at the Kansas City VAMC and associated outpatient clinics. The primary purpose of the position is to provide a wide range of clerical - administrative - and logistical support functions beneficial to the operations of Audiology. Duties utilize administrative and technical skills - positive communications skills with internal and external customers - and ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position - applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement - 04/06/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation - but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year - it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade - as required by the announcement. In this instance - you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Conducts physical inspection and inventory of all transactions and acts to resolve discrepancies that affect the accuracy of customer order and packing list. Ensures internal quality controls of medical supplies are established and maintained by rotating stock - checking for outdated materials - and maintaining the appropriate safeguards and temperature controls. Maintains procurement records and reports. Assist management in the hiring process by completing HR paperwork - scheduling interviews - and arranging panels. Duties
- Duties and responsibilities include - but are not limited to: Receives - processes - and/or distributes all incoming and outgoing mail for the service ensuring items requiring additional action are appropriately disseminated for completion
- Receives and triages calls and electronic communications to appropriate sources
- Refers technical matters to the individual with appropriate knowledge and expertise
- Responds using established business practices involving established policy or standard operating procedures according to the situation
- Establishes and maintains tracking log of incoming and outgoing correspondence and follows up on suspense dates to ensure that required actions and responses are made within deadlines
- Provides general information on routine service issues and assists in providing detailed information to interested parties as appropriate
- Reviews outgoing correspondence for conformance with general policy - factual correctness - adequacy of grammar - and replated mechanical features
- Assist management in the hiring process by completing HR paperwork - scheduling interviews - and arranging panels
- Create new employee folders and provide support for new employees i.e
- assign Vista and CPRS keys - as well as grant access to the consult pathways necessary
- Maintains the credentialing and privileging records for professional clinical staff as required
- Manages records related to the requirements of the Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) programs
- Monitors expiration dates of licensure and privileges
- notifying leadership of renewal dates
- Ensures completion of peer reviews per procedure
