Summary
This position is shared between Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service (P&LMS) and Dental Service within VA WNY HCS. The position performs administrative and technical duties in support of the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service Chief - the Dental Service Chief and the subordinate staff of the services.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-5) in Federal Service - that has provided the applicant with the particular knowledge - skills - and abilities to perform successfully the duties of a Program Support Assistant. Examples of specialized experience would typically include - but are not limited to: preparing a wide variety of correspondence and reports; screening incoming mail - telephone calls - and visitors; assisting with timekeeping duties; and auditing records for completion.. Duties
- ***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION - YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Duties include - but are not limited to - the following: Prepares a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondence and/or reports
- Screens incoming mail
- Receives telephone calls - greets visitors - and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits
- Assists with timekeeping duties
- Monitors incoming specimens and registers VISN patients using Veteran Service Center SharePoint
- Processes and tracks requests for pathology material from internal and external entities
- Manages Dental Clinic employees and resident onboarding
- Performs on-going tracking of data for Anatomic Pathology to ensure all reports are completed
- Manages data collection and tracking to meet set Quality Assurance deadlines
- Performs other duties as assigned Work Schedule: Monday-Friday

Salary : $47,484 - $61,729
