Summary
- A recruitment/relocation incentive may be offered to highly qualified candidate(s).***** The Psychiatry Service Staff Psychiatrist provides comprehensive psychiatric care to Veterans referred for Mental Health services within the Psychiatrist's approved privileges. In addition to Veteran care - the Psychiatrist may have responsibilities in other areas such as education and research. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - Please see below.
- The Staff Psychiatrist is responsible for providing psychiatric care in an outpatient setting - identifying Veterans' mental and medical health needs and designing diagnostic and therapeutic plans to meet these needs
- Incumbent serves as the medical subject matter expert within their assigned team and may be responsible for coordinating activities of other health service personnel - resolving problems affecting Veteran care - and providing appropriate education for the Veteran and/or family members regarding the Veteran's care - condition - and its management
- Care is provided in accordance with VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guidelines as measured by the Peer Review Program and various quality metrics
