Duties

- This aligns with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Mission Statement to Honor America's Veterans by providing exceptional health care that improves their health and well-being
- The Physician Assistant (PA) in Primary Care is expected to complete work assignments with relative independence and minimal guidance
- The PA provides a full range of services that includes chronic disease management - preventative health care and evaluation of episodic acute illness
- Duties include - but are not limited to: Provides care delivery in the Primary Care service line
- Ensures appropriate creation of standard note templates and documentation capture
- Ensures resolution of provider documentation and coding issues
- Attends and participates in departmental meetings as necessary
- Provides administrative clinical support with review and approval or denial of non-VA care when asked
- Communicates with the Veteran and other stakeholders to ensure delivery of patient centered care
- Provides OPPE and FPPE for providers as necessary
- Documents in CPRS care plans and communication with Veterans - VA and non-VA providers involved in the Veteran's care
- Ensures next step in care delivery - not all inclusive - by ordering medications - labs - radiology or consults
- Maintains TMS training
- Maintains appropriate medical licensing in accordance with credentialing and privileging
- Maintains appropriate interpersonal communication and business relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Work Schedule: Monday - Friday - 7:30am - 4:00pm Telework: Available (Ad-hoc) Virtual: This is not a virtual position

- You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment
- Program approval - award amount (up to $200 -000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application
