Nurse Practitioner (Clinical Practice Manager)

Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200 -000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

Duties

• Bend is a city in Central Oregon and the county seat of Deschutes County - Oregon - United States
• It is located to the east of the Cascade Range - on the Deschutes River
• The site became known by pioneers as a fordable crossing point of the river - where it was ran through a bend
• An 1870s ranch popularized the name \"Farewell Bend\" - with the post office later distinguishing the area as Bend
• It was incorporated as a city in 1905 - starting off as a logging town
• In 1910 - Mirror Pond was created as a dammed river reservoir to provide energy
• In 1950 - the two major logging companies were consolidated due to depleted timber - causing an economic drop
• In later decades - it experienced rapid growth as a center of recreation
• The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Clinic Practice Manager practices in the Primary Care Division
• They provide a full range of services emphasizing quality - timeliness - and advancing the Veterans Affairs mission
• The APN executes leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for population groups or integrated programs and influence the organization's mission and health care
• The NP provides advanced clinical practice - consultation - and management of a clinic including supervision of licensed practitioners
• Duties include - but are not limited to: Responsible and accountable for the operation of their assigned units and provides coverage for other Supervisory APNs as needed
• Responsible and accountable for the direction and supervision of specific orientation - training - and development of staff
• In addition - they evaluate individual staff performance
• Functions as a role model - educator - practitioner - and supervisor providing leadership to the team
• Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes
• Engages in professional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth
• Adheres to ethical principles in decision-making - fostering accountability at personal - organizational - and staff levels
• Contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design - ensuring evidence-based - accessible - affordable - and equitable patient care
