- Major Duties and responsibilities include - but are not limited to: Passes on instructions received from a supervisor to other workers and gets the job started
- Works along with other employees and sets the pace for the task
- Demonstrates proper work methods
- Assures that needed plans - blueprints - materials - and tools are available
- Obtains needed information or decisions from supervisors on problems that arise while performing the work
- Maintains a current knowledge and answers questions of other employees on procedures - policies - and written instructions such as work orders
- Distributes portions of the work in such a manner to keep everyone in the work crew productive
- Checks work while in progress - and when finished - to insure meeting the supervisors' requirements on work sequence - procedures - methods - and deadlines
- Urges or advises other employees to follow instructions received from supervisor
- Assures that safety and housekeeping rules are followed
- Informs the supervisor on the status and progress of work
- Answers the supervisors' questions on overall work operations and related problems
