Qualifications
TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-9 GRADE LEVEL - YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-8) in the Federal Service that has given you the particular knowledge - skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of this position. Specialized experience includes supervising administrative support staff by assigning work and evaluating performance; managing personnel functions such as recruitment - leave administration - and/or disciplinary actions; applying policies or procedures to resolve administrative actions; and using automated systems to manage - track - or report program data. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title - duties - month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Duties
- ***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION - YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Duties include but are not limited to the following: Plan work priorities - resource needs - and short-term goals for eligibility and enrollment operations
- Assign daily eligibility - enrollment - and pre-registration work based on priorities and staff capabilities
- Monitor schedules - leave - and workload distribution to maintain adequate section coverage
- Evaluate employee work performance against established standards and requirements
- Counsel employees on performance - conduct - and administrative work matters
- Train staff on eligibility - enrollment - customer service - and administrative procedures
- Determine applicant eligibility for health care access using governing laws - regulations - and policies
- Review and process enrollment applications in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain accurate enrollment - demographic - and insurance information in program databases
- Analyze enrollment trends and report findings to support planning and outreach
- Resolve eligibility - enrollment - and patient information discrepancies
- Conduct pre-registration contacts to verify and update Veteran demographic and insurance information
- Perform other related duties as assigned
