About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Arts and Crafts Center on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK.
Regular Part-Time employees have a regular and continuous work schedule of at least 20 hours to a maximum of 34 hours per week. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Must have progressively responsible experience in the use and general maintenance of miter saws, chop saws, vnailer, mat cutters, glass cutters, engravers and measuring devices. Experience in program development in an Arts & Crafts environment is required. Must possess ability to teach classes in framing, glass crafts, woodworking, fabric crafts, jewelry and/or drawing is required. Must have experience which demonstrates a wide knowledge range of framing and engraving materials, techniques and processes. Experience in art, graphics, and layout is required. Must be able to read, write and speak English, and do basic arithmetic. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Clear speaking voice required.
Must be able to lift 40 pounds without assistance. Must be able to stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time. Must be able to work in an environment with occasional exposure to high noise levels, dust, grease and dirt. Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Investigation. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug test. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must have computer knowledge to include Microsoft Office, Rectrac, Inventory, SAIS and SETS.Education:Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
