This is a Direct Hire Authority solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serves as a U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) Paramedic in the Army Emergency Medical Service supporting an Army or joint base military installation. Paramedics perform both basic and advanced fife support emergency medical treatment to provide the most extensive pre-hospital care.Qualifications:Who May Apply: US Citizens
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience 1) evaluating medical emergencies to provide advanced life support care, 2) conducting examinations in an emergency setting and interpretating vital signs, 3) performing advanced airway care, 4) administering emergency medicine techniques such as CPR/First Aid, Basic and Advanced Life Support, AND 5) operating an emergency vehicle. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).Education:Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
