You will serve as a Material Handler and be responsible for performing the full range of warehouse operations - ordering, receiving, stocking, inventorying, treating, and issuing materials and equipment.
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
- Receiving, storing, handling, and issuing supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Sorting and segregating material and making note of overages, shortages and damages and making verbal and written reports to the supervisor.
- Repacking various items that are received and do not comply with packaging and repacking to comply with warehouse standards.
- Performing consolidation, integration and staging of material(s) and keeping logs (manual and/or computerized) of the process.
- Ensuring safe receipt, storage, and movement of hazardous and toxic materials and substances in accordance with safety regulations.
- Operating large warehouse equipment such as forklift, hand and electric "pallet jacks", wire guided lifts, vertical and horizontal "carousels/mini-retrieve" and other automated storage equipment
- Operating facility vehicles for local deliveries and pickups.
