Job Description
The Business Banking Healthcare Segment Leader reports directly to the head of Business Banking Sales. Provides leadership to a team of individual contributors/Business Banking leaders to execute One Bank strategy and grow the Healthcare Segment revenue across various geographic markets. Responsible for staying current on/ensuring team's continued knowledge of standard lending policies, products, and services as well as products and needs that are unique or of increased importance to segment clients. Establishes a strong personal/bank presence with relevant associations or partner organizations specific to the segment. Understands market-leading practices, products, and competitors and articulates a vision and strategy for positioning U.S. Bank in the marketplace. Acts as the Healthcare Segment's escalation point for high visibility matters requiring executive level prioritization or escalation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to develop, pursue, and achieve the Healthcare Segment initiatives. Note: Incumbents who are leading a newly forming segment may have increased initial focus on establishing a team of segment specific-relationship management generalists and specialists, growing U.S. Bank's market presence for the segment, and increased interaction with key clients and influencers.
- Responsible for staying current on/ensuring team's continued knowledge of standard lending policies, products, and services as well as products and needs that are unique or of increased importance to segment clients. Establishes a strong personal/bank presence with relevant associations or partner organizations specific to the segment. Understands market-leading practices, products, and competitors and articulates a vision and strategy for positioning U.S. Bank to win in the marketplace.
- Exercises leadership authority to appropriately initiate actions necessary to meet client needs without explicit management direction or guidance. Acts as the Healthcare Segment's escalation point for high visibility matters requiring executive level prioritization or escalation. Drives for ultimate success of the initiative through a balanced approach across multiple products and business lines.
- Actively ensure compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, policies and procedures. Actively participates in any required corporate and business line training in these areas. Ensures self/team compliance with account opening procedures and understands and follows internal suspicious activity referral requirements and processes, as required for this position. Actively works with customers to understand each customer's normal account activity, as appropriate for this position.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically 10 or more years of business banking/closely related banking experience, as well as experience developing and executing market segment strategy
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Demonstrated experience in Business Banking and/or Healthcare client development and management
- Experience managing a team of direct and indirect reports
- Demonstrated ability to navigate across the enterprise where influence and partnership across multiple areas to drive robust client outcomes is expected
- Well-developed leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal, written and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead new initiatives
- Ability to recruit, hire, and onboard top talent
