This role serves as a critical intake point into the Repossession and Collateral Liquidation process and helps mitigate financial loss by ensuring timely, compliant decision‑making.

The position combines document processing, external partner communication, negotiation, and operational judgment. While this is not a call‑center role, it requires frequent phone interaction with impound and tow facilities.

  • Review and process documentation related to impounded vehicles where U.S. Bank holds a lien
  • Communicate directly with impound and tow facilities to confirm vehicle status, storage conditions, and next steps
  • Notify customers as required and document all activity in internal systems
  • Evaluate whether it is in U.S. Bank’s best financial interest to recover an impounded vehicle
  • Coordinate vehicle pickup and transition into the repossession process when recovery is approved
  • Support state‑law‑driven and time‑sensitive processes to prevent loss of collateral or lien position
  • Maintain accurate, detailed records to ensure compliance and audit readiness
  • Negotiate storage fees and related costs with impound facilities when appropriate

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Typically three to five years of experience in clerical, operations, or customer service–focused roles

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Strong verbal communication skills and comfort with phone‑based partner communication
  • Ability to handle difficult or sensitive conversations professionally
  • Attention to detail in documentation, recordkeeping, and compliance
  • Sound judgment and decision‑making skills when evaluating financial risk and cost
  • Ability to manage multiple time‑sensitive tasks and deadlines
  • Proficient computer and system navigation skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience working with external vendors, documentation workflows, or regulated processes
