Experience or training that indicates sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position consistent with acceptable practices of the trade including but not limited to:
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Must have skill and knowledge to perform tasks involving several procedures and be able to concentrate on work assignments despite interruptions and distractions. A working knowledge of sanitation standards is required as well as knowledge of procedures to prevent contamination. Must know basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures. Must have the ability to read and understand written material. Must have knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals. Ability to apportion, weigh, and measure foods properly and to use electrical appliances, grills, stoves, ovens, and other common kitchen equipment and utensils. Ability to operate a cash register, run a snack bar and drive a food cart.

Duties

- In a Snack Bar prepares a limited variety of short order fast food items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, fish and chicken sandwiches, pizzas, French fries, etc.
- Prepares/slices lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and other vegetables for sandwiches, salads and pizzas.
- Assures that tables/work surfaces are promptly cleared and cleaned. Removes perishable foods from the freezer for daily activities.
- Accepts food orders from patrons and serves alcoholic beverages. Serves as cashier in the snack bar, receiving payment by cash or charge.
- May work on a mobile eating cart driving around to deliver food and drink to patrons. Coordinates food and beverage needs for special events, not limited to preparing and serving food and cleaning work areas.

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Must be available to work varying and/or rotating shifts to include mornings, afternoons, early evening, weekdays, weekends, holidays.
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
- This position is dual compensation exempt. All GS and NAF employees whether full time or part time are eligible to apply for this position.
- Must meet state/local age requirements (18 years old) at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages.
- Medical Examination is required.
- A valid Driver's License is required.

- Ability to work without more than normal supervision.
- Ability to keep things neat, clean, and in order.
- Possess basic food preparation and handling techniques.
- Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions.
- Knowledge of basic sanitation principles.
- Ability to use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.
- Able to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds and frequently walk, bend, stoop, pull, push and reach.

PCS Costs
- Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
- This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
- Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
