Responsibilities
- Assist the Loader Operator in moving vehicles and vehicle parts throughout the yard and between the production shop and yard locations
- Ensure vehicles are positioned safely and are accessible for customers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard, shop, and shared work areas
- Support the automobile scrapping process, including removing cores and gas tanks from vehicles and placing components in designated areas
- Loosen, remove, and lift vehicle wheels, tires, and rims as needed
- Communicate effectively with team members in person and by radio to coordinate tasks
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods in a physically demanding role
- Address disputes professionally and contribute to a positive team environment
- Complete additional duties as assigned by the Production Manager
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or similar environment is an asset but not required
- Experience with forklifts is preferred but not required
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and bending
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage time effectively, multitask, and prioritize requests
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude and professional approach when interacting with team members and staff
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally
