We are seeking a creative, strategic, and community-minded Marketing Director to lead our marketing efforts and elevate our brand.
Position Summary
We are seeking a driven and personable individual to run our Marketing Department. The Marketing Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all marketing initiatives to support membership growth, product adoption, loan growth, community engagement, and brand consistency. This role oversees advertising, digital marketing, public relations, events, internal communications, and overall brand strategy. This individual will need to be an expert in content marketing, search engine optimization, social media, and other marketing channels. This position will require that you can communicate the UPSCU brand through storytelling and outreach efforts.
Frequent travel to the communities we serve is expected. U.P. State Credit Union has branches through out the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Our locations are St. Ignace, Sault Ste Marie, Kincheloe, Escanaba, Cedarville, and Norway.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the credit union’s annual marketing plan aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead branding initiatives to strengthen member engagement and increase visibility in the communities we serve.
- Oversee digital marketing, including website content, social media, email campaigns, and online advertising.
- Manage creative design and production of marketing materials, ensuring brand consistency.
- Plan and coordinate community events and outreach.
- Partner with internal departments to promote products, services, and member programs.
- Analyze marketing data, campaign performance, and member trends to identify growth opportunities.
- Manage vendor relationships, advertising contracts, and marketing budget.
- Ensure compliance with credit union policies, regulatory marketing requirements, and industry best practices.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and development to any marketing staff or external contractors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- In depth understanding of branding, digital marketing, and community outreach.
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail.
- Experience with social media management, graphic design tools, Adobe Creative Suite, and website content systems is preferred.
- Creative thinker with strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
