As an Engine Specialist, you will use U-Haul Company’s proprietary technology to assess and care for field vehicles. Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to diagnose the source of mechanical and drivability problems and repair or replace major or minor gasoline-engine parts and related components (heating, cooling systems and radiators) of U-Haul trucks. Primary responsibilities include: Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identify worn and damaged parts. Overhaul and repair engines or motors; disassemble engines and repair or replace defective parts; reassemble engines and make adjustments as needed; use oxygen-acetylene, electro arc-welding or similar types of equipment. Perform preventive maintenance, maintain and repair engines, and oil and lubricate engine and chassis Install timing gears, crankshafts, bearings, cylinders, and drive systems. Must have good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Team Members are expected to willingly lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of their supervisor.
