Master Carpenter / Craftsman

Job Summary
We are seeking a multi-skilled carpenter/craftsman to join our team enhancing homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various carpentry and construction tasks, demonstrating proficiency with a wide range of tools, and the ability to fabricate high-quality finish carpentry products.

The carpenter/craftsman will be involved in a range of projects, from building built-in shelving units from scratch, to cabinet installation, to finish and trim carpentry, to broader restoration and remodeling activities.

This role requires a commitment to quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively on project sites. Most project sites are finished residences, so cleanliness and professionalism is critical.

Standard Job Duties:

• Show up to job sites timely and demonstrate cleanliness and professionalism.
• Read drawings and communicate effectively to understand project requirements and layout.
• Perform demolition of cabinetry, countertops, walls, and flooring, as needed.
• Construct cabinetry, shelving, ceiling beams, and other products from scratch with design documentation.
• Perform frame carpentry, trim carpentry, and cabinet installation according to project specifications.
• Engage in sanding, painting, staining, and finishing of wood products.
• Engage in drywall repair and/or drywall hanging, when necessary.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various construction tasks.
• Carry out fixture installation, door hanging, caulking, and other various finishing tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

• Experience in hanyman work, carpentry, construction or the restoration industry.
• Strong skills in woodworking, fabrication, assembly, and heavy lifting are essential.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team on diverse projects.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Must be physically fit to handle the demands of the job including lifting heavy materials.
• Must speak English fluently.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites.
• Must have a clean criminal record.

Helpful Skills, Not Required:

• Ability to install tile backsplash
• Ability to lay flooring, such as LVP
• Ability to install or interact with various under cabinet light products
• Knowledge of general plumbing and electrical.
