This position is responsible for
- assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by insuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly.
- This position is also responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all assigned equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
This person is responsible for
- overseeing hourly checks for all the ammonia systems including compressors, condensers, evaporators, re-circulators, and any piping and associated equipment are completed and documented correctly.
- Must be able to follow instructions both written and oral and must be able to communicate with management personnel.
- In addition to the ammonia systems, this person is responsible for air compressors, boilers, thermal fluid systems, HVAC systems, air handlers, exhaust fans, ice maker, and water chilling systems and reporting any ammonia leakages.
- Perform daily PM’s on the equipment and perform boiler tests and condenser treatment tests.
- Visually inspect all their assigned equipment on the roof and within the plant regularly.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of plant layout, tools, parts, and equipment.
- Maintain and monitor the ammonia refrigeration equipment within safety standards for the entire facility.
- Good math, reading and writing skills to properly monitor equipment, check and record data.
- Must be a member of the HAZMAT Team and pass annual physicals to maintain the HAZMAZ qualification status.
- Working inside and outside of the facility as directed, exposed to weather elements outside, wet floors, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic equipment repairs, moving objects, humid, noisy, cramped working quarters at times.

- Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.
- Also, if you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire.
