Position Summary:
This position will set up, tear down and operate the Peeler and all other support equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Move racked product and remove racks to the rack wash area.
- Move 900 pounds of product on racks from the holding cooler to the peeler room.
- Empty smokehouse chills when the product is ready.
- Perform necessary weight and process checks.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in the department.
- Must be HACCP certified to do FIT checks on the KSI.
- Take salimeter readings and adjust if necessary.
- Check and clean the KSI screens.
- Pick up floor meat and/or trash in the clean room and transport to the clean room vestibule.
- Will need to be tow motor certified to transport tanks and racks.
- Ability and willingness to perform basic math functions (i.e.: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability and willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
- Ability and willingness to complete all paperwork and SAP functions
- Ability and willingness to complete all paperwork and accurately record and report product information into the computer.
- Maintain general manufacturing practices.
- Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements.
- Perform all positions of job rotation as needed.
- Perform any other work as assigned by management.
- Ability and willingness to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level minimum of 20 pounds frequently.
- Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with rapid hand and eye coordination to move product on a conveyor and/or other processing equipment.
- Ability and willingness to stand/walk/climb/bend for up to 10 hours.
- Ability and willingness to flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently.
- Ability and willingness to work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 35 degrees.
- Ability and willingness to distinguish between shades and/or colors.
- Machine Operator experience preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
- RF Scanner experience preferred
- 3 months of work history with the same employer
