Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Maintain an accurate inventory of parts, tools, and equipment for poultry production and maintenance operations.
- Track parts usage and reordering to prevent shortages and ensure timely availability.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits.
- Work with suppliers and vendors to order necessary parts and materials.
- Negotiate pricing and manage purchase orders to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Ensure timely receipt and inspection of incoming shipments for quality and accuracy.
- Implement and maintain proper storage and labeling systems for parts and supplies.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and efficient parts room to minimize downtime and improve accessibility.
- Supervise and train parts room staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Assign tasks and monitor employee performance to ensure efficient workflow.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
- Implement best practices for inventory control to minimize loss, waste, and mismanagement.
- Conduct safety training and ensure all team members follow workplace safety protocols.
- Work closely with maintenance supervisors and production teams to ensure parts availability for repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Provide quick and accurate support during equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Maintain records of parts usage for maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Maintain detailed records of parts transactions, stock levels, and purchase orders.
- Prepare reports on inventory status, usage trends, and cost analysis.
- Use computerized inventory management systems to track and optimize parts room operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree or technical training in supply chain, logistics, or maintenance management is preferred.
- 3 years of experience in parts inventory management, warehouse operations, or a related role, preferably in poultry or food production.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of computerized inventory systems (e.g., CMMS, SAP, or similar).
- Basic mechanical knowledge to understand part functions and applications.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to work with multiple departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience in an industrial, agricultural, or poultry processing environment.
- Knowledge of maintenance and repair parts for poultry processing equipment.
- Familiarity with procurement procedures and vendor management.
- Ability to lift and move heavy parts and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to work in warehouse or production environments with varying temperatures.
- Standing, walking, and handling inventory for extended periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call shifts, as needed.
