Dual-Licensed SUDP / LMHC Clinical Supervisor

Overview

Tyrus Recovery is seeking an experienced, motivated, and innovative dual-licensed Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our growing behavioral health agency.

This is not a role where you will simply step into an existing program and follow someone else’s blueprint.

For the right clinician, this is an opportunity to help build and shape a clinical program from the ground up. We are looking for someone with creativity and drive to develop meaningful, effective programming for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health needs.

The person stepping into this role will be given freedom and autonomy to help develop our clinical structure, programming, curriculum, workflows, documentation, and overall approach to care.

Responsibilities

• The Dual-Licensed SUDP/LMHC will play an integral role in clinical program development and service delivery, including:
• Conducting comprehensive substance use disorder and mental health assessments.
• Diagnosing mental health and substance use disorders within the clinician’s scope of practice.
• Developing individualized, person-centered treatment plans.
• Managing an assigned clinical caseload and eventually managing clinical staff as we grow.
• Facilitating individual counseling and therapeutic groups.
• Developing and implementing curriculum for both substance use disorder and mental health program tracks.
• Providing clinical supervision to SUDPTs and LMHCAs in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Supporting the development of clinical workflows, policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
• Assisting with EHR build-outs, including clinical forms, assessments, progress note templates, treatment plans, and other documentation tools.
• Ensuring clinical documentation meets medical necessity, payer, billing, and audit standards.
• Supporting ongoing clinical compliance with applicable WACs, RCWs, licensing requirements, and payer expectations.
• Collaborating with leadership to develop effective, evidence-based, and sustainable programming.
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives and helping identify opportunities to strengthen clinical care and program outcomes.
• This role will develop into a Clinical Director position as Tyrus Recovery grows the clinical department.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Washington State SUDP license through the Washington State Department of Health and be an approved supervisor in accordance with WAC 246-811-049
• Active and unrestricted Washington State LMHC license through the Washington State Department of Health and meet supervisor requirements in accordance with WAC 246-809-234
• Experience providing clinical supervision to SUDPTs and LMHCAs.
• Experience conducting assessments and diagnosing behavioral health conditions.
• Strong knowledge of Washington State behavioral health regulations, including applicable WACs and RCWs.
• Experience managing a clinical caseload.
• Experience facilitating therapeutic and psychoeducational groups.
• Strong clinical documentation skills and knowledge of documentation requirements for commercial insurance, Medicaid, and other payer billing standards.
• Experience with treatment planning, medical necessity documentation, progress notes, and clinical record compliance.
• Experience and/or strong desire to develope clinical programming and curriculum.
• Experience working with EHR systems, including clinical workflow development, form creation, template development, or EHR build-outs.

Preferred Experience

Certification, formal training, or demonstrated clinical experience in one or more of the following is strongly preferred:

• Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
• Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
• Somatic Experiencing or other evidence-based somatic and trauma-focused approaches
• Co-occurring disorder treatment
• Trauma-informed care
• Program development and implementation
• Clinical quality assurance and compliance
