This non-clinical support allows dentists to spend more time and attention on patient care rather than burdensome administrative functions. Affiliated dentists benefit from professionally managed non-clinical support services such as human resources, payor relations, group purchasing, vendor management, capital investments, staff management, recruiting, finance, marketing, and information systems.

The Billing Specialist plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely insurance claim submission and patient statement processing, supporting efficient revenue cycle operations while maintaining excellent service to patients, providers, and practices.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit dental insurance claims (electronic and paper) in a timely and accurate manner.
• Verify patient and insurance information to ensure clean claim submission.
• Generate and distribute patient statements in alignment with billing cycles and office protocols.
• Review patient accounts for accuracy prior to statement release, including insurance payments, adjustments, and balances.
• Communicate with internal teams (Insurance Verification, Payment Posting, and AR) to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and dental billing regulations.
• Provide timely and professional support to practices, patients, and insurance inquiries related to billing and statements.
• Support process improvements to reduce claim errors, minimize delays in reimbursement, and improve cash flow.
• Maintain accurate documentation of billing activity and account updates.
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of dental billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle experience.
• Strong understanding of dental insurance billing, claims processing, and payment posting.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
