Role Description
We are seeking a highly motivated, collaborative and resourceful scientist/senior scientist with extensive experience in CAR-T and T cell biology. The successful candidate will be a key member of the immunology team, to enable both early-stage discovery research efforts as well as the development of drug product formulations for our preclinical animal study candidates. This is a hands-on, on-site laboratory role. This individual will be responsible for the design and optimization of our CAR-T in vitro assays and will interface with cross-functional teams including delivery, analytical, pharmacology, and manufacturing to advance platform initiatives and pipeline programs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing CAR-T in vitro assays (including co-cultures, cytokine release assays, immunophenotyping, CAR-T cell expansion, flow cytometry, ex-vivo processing, etc). Previous experience with LNPs, pharmacology, CAR-T design, and gene editing is a plus. The candidate is expected to be a strong collaborator who enjoys scientific discovery, has a passion for working on cutting-edge technology, and can communicate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and interdisciplinary environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and execute T cell in vitro assays including (but not limited to) CAR-T co-cultures, cytokine release assays, immunophenotyping, CAR-T cell expansion, flow cytometry, and ex-vivo processing
- Collaborate with external CROs
- Maintain meticulous documentation of all experimental data, procedures, and protocols
- Review and analyze data and be able to present and explain across the functional teams
- Collaborate with a team of scientists to creatively solve problems and drive innovation
- Maintain high standards for scientific integrity and accountability
Requirements
- PhD in immunology, cell biology, pharmacology, or related discipline, MS with at least 4 years of relevant industry experience, BS with at least 7 years of relevant industry experience
- Hands on experience with the following: CAR-T, flow cytometry, primary cell (immune cells) and cell line culturing, co-cultures, ex-vivo processing, T cell immunophenotyping, cytokine release assays, qPCR, electroporation
- Able to conduct self-directed research and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced entrepreneurial setting with a diverse team of coworkers
