We’re seeking an experienced, motivated sales professional—with a background in furniture or home furnishings, mattresses, and/or interior design—who thrives in a relationship-driven, consultative sales environment to join our team at our Fort Mill, SC showroom. 


Work Environment: Our thoughtfully curated showroom offers 40,000 sq. feet of customizable furniture and premium mattresses. This highly styled space creates an environment where the product truly sells itself. With the support of a dedicated in-house marketing team, award winning product quality and customer service, and a long-established reputation in the greater Charlotte area– our brand brings in a steady flow of qualified leads, allowing you to focus on what you do best: building relationships, guiding design decisions, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Compensation: In this position you should earn between $65,000 to $120,000 per year.


Schedule: 5 Days a Week inside of Retail Hours: M-TH 10am-5pm, F-S 10am-6pm (Sunday: Closed)

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Sales Consultant at Tyndall Furniture & Mattress, your role is to create an exceptional, personalized experience for every client who walks through our doors. This is a relationship-driven position where your ability to connect, listen, and guide will directly impact your success. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor—helping clients navigate design decisions, product selections, and purchases with confidence and ease.


In this role, you will:

• Welcome each guest with warmth and professionalism, creating an inviting first impression in our showroom

• Build genuine relationships by understanding each client’s lifestyle, needs, and design vision

• Provide consultative design guidance, helping clients select furniture, fabrics, and layouts that fit their home and lifestyle

• Provide consultative guidance helping clients select a mattress that fits their sleep style and needs

• Confidently present product options and solutions tailored to each individual customer

• Assist clients through the full purchasing journey by preparing an accurate quote, educating them on financing options/ product care/ and protection plans, generating sales order documentation, and following up after delivery to ensure  a seamless customer experience

• Maintain ongoing relationships with customers through thoughtful follow-ups using SMS messaging, personalized emails, hand-written cards and phone calls

• Stay informed on product knowledge, design trends, promotions, and sales techniques through ongoing training

• Maintain a growth mindset with a strong eagerness to learn, adapt, and embrace new sales strategies, tools, and technology

• Participate in lead generation and outreach efforts to build and grow your personal client base and maintain lasting relationships with them

• Complete daily reporting and administrative tasks to support sales performance and team operations

• Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales goals through a proactive and self-driven approach

Industry Experience & Product Knowledge

  • Proven experience in furniture sales, mattress sales, or interior design / design consulting
  • Familiarity with a wide range of furniture styles, furniture construction methods, materials, and customization options
  • General understanding of the furniture manufacturing process and product quality differences (ie. dovetail construction, 8 way hand-tied frames, fabric grading)
  • Comfort with digital tools including the Google Business Suite for email, and Podium for SMS communication, Google Sheets, Google Drive, and Adobe Acrobat; experience with an iPad
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies such as digital room planning tools, furniture customization platforms, and pricing systems


Sales Skills & Performance

  • Confidence in closing sales, overcoming objections, and guiding customers to a final decision
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and maintain consistent, timely follow-up
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with a diverse range of clients
  • Motivation driven by performance-based earnings and personal achievement


Earning Opportunity: Tyndall Furniture & Mattress is invested in your success. Our paid training program will teach you everything you need to know about how we serve our clients and the ins-and-outs of our product line. We offer an uncapped commission structure. In this position you should earn between $65,000 to $120,000 per year.
