Yard Operations Associate

Position Summary: 

The Yard Associate is responsible for the stationing and retrieving units on the location's property. The Yard Associate prepares outgoing shipments and receives incoming shipments. Additional duties include organizing inventory for easy retrieval as new orders come in, reviewing incoming and outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations, and documenting damage to inventory.

 Job Functions:

• Operate Forklifts, Tractors and Skid Steers


• Station and retrieve units to and from the yard safely and securely


• Work with inventory specialists to maintain exceptional organization of yard inventory for FIFO purposes 


• Accurately document location and placement of inventory on the yard


• Maintain a good working surface in the yard 


• Maintain sections/zones of organization of inventory per the yard layout


• Load and unload large shipments as needed by shipping


• Create inventory adjustment forms as needed for product moving around on the yard and in the system


• Ensure adherence to environmental management and systems


• Trouble shoot shipping issues and damages to units that arise and work to solve them

Job Qualifications:

• Previous experience (2 years) in a shipping or receiving environment


• Previous Forklift, Skid Steer and Tractor Operation, preferably 2 years hands-on experience


• Comfortable in a warehouse setting and non-temperature-controlled environment


• Strong with interpersonal relationships and communications


• Excellent organization and administrative skills


• Exemplary care for the products and units that are being handled


• Able to think analytically and problem-solve


• Able to operate heavy machinery


• Detail-oriented and able to multitask


• Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
