Responsibilities & Qualifications
What You'll Do:
- Perform design and analysis of complex concrete and steel bridge structures. Experience with long span bridges is an asset.
- Advanced structural engineering and analysis capabilities, including ability to perform seismic analysis.
- Design of concrete and steel bridge structures.
- Develop designs, contract plans and specifications.
- Coordinate with and direct CAD production activities for drawing production.
- Conduct quality control activities for independent review and checking of structural designs.
- Interface with civil engineers for development of complete project plans and specifications.
- Develop engineering studies, reports and documentation.
- Oversee and review calculations and designs performed by engineers.
- Other assignments as needed.
- Professional Engineering License (PE) in NJ, NY or PA.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil / structural engineering required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Must have at least 7 years of structural design experience in bridges and related structures. Project management experience will be plus.
- Ability to perform advanced structural analysis and designs. Experience in CSI Bridge is a plus.
- Familiarity with AASHTO, NJDOT, PennDOT and NJTA design and standards preferred.
- Proficient in leading technical aspects of bridge projects, writing reports, preparing drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations.
- Must possess excellent technical and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.
