Leather Shop Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Leather Shop Assistant to join our manufacturing team. This role involves supporting the production of high-quality leather goods through various fabrication, assembly, and finishing tasks. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and trainable. This position is entry level and all necessary training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on craftsmanship and precision.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the fabrication and assembly of leather products, ensuring quality standards are met
• Use sewing machines and hand tools to assemble garments or leather items with accuracy
• Conduct measurements using calipers and other precision instruments to ensure proper dimensions
• Support heavy lifting tasks for moving raw materials or finished products within the workspace
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
• Collaborate with team members on projects involving fabrication and construction of leather goods

Skills

• Mechanical knowledge related to machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processes
• Proficiency in sewing, garment construction, and using sewing machines is a plus
• Knowledge of fabricating leather products or garment construction is a plus
• Strong attention to detail with excellent craftsmanship skills
• Ability to work safely with machinery and follow safety protocols at all times
