As a member of the Institutional Research team, the Data Analyst position supports institutional decision-making by assisting with data management, data quality, and data literacy efforts across the College. Under the direction of the Director of Institutional Research, this position will consult with functional and academic offices to identify their data and reporting needs, then coordinate the transformation, storage, and management of the data using a variety of tools and database systems with special emphasis on delivering high-quality reports and information to stakeholders to support operations and decision-making.

Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Required Experience
Two years of working with databases, creating reports, analytics, or other related experience
Must have experience with data extraction and analysis tools. Understand SQL either directly or through a visual builder tool.
EXPECTATIONS
- Consult with functional and academic offices to identify data sources and reporting needs.
- Work with subject matter experts to document metadata for data systems, elements, and reports.
- Translate functional and academic data needs into technical specifications.
- Assist with the design and creation of databases to store and manage information.
- Assist with data cleaning, transformation, storage, and validation.
- Identify data quality metrics and conduct regular data quality audits.
- Assist with the creation of data extracts and dashboards to support reporting requirements.
- Recommend improvements to data management policies and standards.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with other offices on campus.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of procedural documentation.
- Perform other duties related to data management and institutional research as assigned.
