DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Director, CTE Academies is full-time 12 month position and reports to the Director, Educational Partnerships. This position provides leadership and supervision to career and workforce coordinators in the Office of School Partnerships. This role is responsible for the successful implementation of workforce dual credit courses at high schools and assisting with initiatives to better prepare students for college and career. The position is also responsible for building and maintaining the TJC CTE Academies, creating a variety of options for TJC’s dual credit students to pursue credentials in customized CTE dual credit pathways.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Primary Responsibilities
- Build and maintain TJC’s CTE Academy model to provide a variety of options for TJC’s Dual Credit students to earn credentials in a customized CTE dual credit pathway;
- Direct day-to-day operations of dual credit CTE programs;
- Manage and oversee CTE dual credit enrollment, including the development of course schedules, admissions and registration processes, and college and career readiness determination for approximately 3,000 dual credit students;
- Provide leadership, mentorship, training, and supervision to CTE dual credit staff;
- Serve as a liaison between department chairs and school districts and as a resource for faculty, staff, students, parents, the community, industry and ISD partners;
- Manage shared information between TJC and the school districts, including grades, test scores, transcripts, and registration information;
- Implement programmatic initiatives for current and potential school districts;
- Collaborate with high school leadership and TJC academic advising to verify applicability of CTE dual credit courses;
- Provide presentations to students, parents, high school administrators, teachers, and staff on higher education processes, including college admissions, requirements, and program expectations;
- Collaborate with TJC faculty and staff on various academic and student initiatives and activities;
- Attend leadership meetings with high school staff and administrators to ensure all eligible students are in line with their selected pathway;
- Facilitate students' access to support services such as career planning, advising, disability services, transcripts, and tutoring to guide them through their selected degree pathway and course schedule;
- Assist with budget development and management;
- Prepare and facilitate professional development activities for staff and dual credit faculty;
- Review the student cohort lists in the student information system for accuracy of attribute coding to facilitate internal processing and data reporting;
- Develop and recommend policies and procedures to ensure an optimal student experience that is consistent with strategic priorities and best practices;
- Stay current on trends and best practices in areas of responsibility by attending conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities;
- Availability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed; willingness to travel throughout the college district.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree
Required Experience
Three years’ experience working in Higher Education or CTE Dual Credit
Preferred Education
Master’s Degree in Higher Education or Student Affairs
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Dual Credit or high school/community college partnerships
- Experience with admissions or registration of students in an educational setting
- Experience with building partnerships between educational institutions and business/industry
