REPORTS TO: SUPERVISES: Executive Director of Human Resources

SUPERVISES: Substitute Services and Auxiliary Certification Office; Assists in supervising Auxiliary Employees as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Master’s Degree preferred; 2. Texas Mid-management, or other appropriate degree in business administration; 3. At least three years successful human resources school district experience; 4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To assist in managing all aspects of the Human Resources Department.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Administrative/Professional Pay Grade 4, 226 days Wage/Hour Status: Exempt MAJOR

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 1. Assists the supervisors in selecting personnel for non-instructional assignments. 2. Assists in coordinating the district application and recruitment program and ensures that the district is represented in a positive and professional manner. 3. Assists in the processes of employment/transfer/promotion/resignation/termination of auxiliary district employees. 4. Reviews all Criminal History Reports of prospective auxiliary and clerical employees. 5. Assists in administering the district employee evaluation program and ensures that it is implemented effectively and uniformly. 6. Assists supervisory personnel in conducting due-process procedures. 7. Assists in administering the personnel policies, rules and regulations; recommends revisions and changes as needed. 8. Assists with implementing policies associated with and oversee the processing of employee complaints and grievances. 9. Ensures that the employee handbook and personnel directory are created, updated annually, and distributed. 10. Supervises the oversight of the district’s substitute program. 11. Reviews and responds to all unemployment claims; serves as the district representative for Texas Workforce Commission hearings. 12. Assist with directing the preparations and revisions of job descriptions. 13. Assist in implementing the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy. 14. Assist in compiling, maintaining, and presenting all reports, records, and other documents required. 15. Demonstrates responsible fiscal control over assigned program budgets. 16. Assist with the supervision of personnel records management and oversees the required state records management program. 17. Improves leadership skills through self-initiated professional development activities. 18. Annually establishes and meets performance goals. 19. Assists in district-wide recruiting efforts. 20. Determine salary for all auxiliary employees. 21. Performs duties in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner as defined in the TEA Code of Ethics for Educators. 22. Uses information provided through the District appraisal process to improve performance; evaluates the job performance of employees to ensure effectiveness. 23. Performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related to the position and as assigned.

Pay: $63,182.00 - $77,201.00 per year
