Position Overview
We are looking for a dependable and detail-focused Accountant to support our finance operations as we establish our presence in South Dakota. This position will be the first finance role on the ground, making it well-suited for someone with 2–5 years of practical accounting experience who is comfortable working independently and managing daily accounting activities.
The role focuses on accounts payable, accounts receivable, and core accounting support, including month-end activities. We are seeking a hands-on professional who is adaptable, organized, and able to communicate effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounts Payable
- Review, validate, and record vendor invoices with accuracy
- Manage vendor master data and ensure timely payments in line with agreed terms
- Prepare payment schedules and assist with approval processes
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies
2. Accounts Receivable
- Generate and issue customer invoices accurately
- Monitor incoming payments and follow up on outstanding balances
- Maintain AR records and support basic credit control activities
3. Accounting & Finance Support
- Assist with month-end closing tasks, including reconciliations and accruals
- Maintain well-organized accounting records and supporting documents
- Support day-to-day bookkeeping activities as required
- Work with external parties such as payroll providers, auditors, tax advisors, banks, and registered agents
- Help establish accounting procedures, internal controls, and finance workflows for a newly formed entity
4. Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with operations and management teams on finance-related matters
- Support compliance, filings, and reporting in accordance with U.S. and South Dakota requirements
- Provide ad-hoc assistance on finance initiatives and process improvements
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in general accounting or AP/AR within a U.S. context
- Ability to work autonomously in a start-up environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin for stakeholder communication
- Solid understanding of fundamental U.S. accounting principles
Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
